I remember an art teacher who collected photos of things up really close (like the leaf) and really far away, pictures taken from a satellite. She liked the patterns and forms they made -- she thought they showed how the artist didn't have to "create" beauty -- it was just there, if you could see it. I guess she meant that it wasn't the artist's job to make something, as much to point it out to other people. To say LOOK!
